C.F. Martin D-18, 1948.
Made January-February 1948, with dark brown pickguard. Very clean, never been broken. Sitka spruce top with long tapered X and diagonal brace ends gives this instrument clear, singing mids and trebles, and crisp, dry basses, for a bright responsive sound. Ebony bridge is correct in plan and detailing and appears to be either Martin factory anomaly or older replacement. We took this one back to the bench for a neck set and refret (First time for both) and we're glad we did! Original tuners in good working condition, some mild deterioration of plating on buttons.
SOLD w HSC.
